On electric guitar I used .008 and on acoustic I used between .010 and .012. It was probably .010. I would have used whichever felt best. Dominant strings were very expensive and the other three strings were fine.

A couple of years ago on the Fiddle (and Alternative Strings) Forum, Patricia (Tize) Clark mentioned trying the Light (“weich”) tension Prazisions… so I tried them. She’s an Irish Trad fiddler, and said that they worked well for Irish ornaments.

2005年6月23日 · Even though I was using the original violin G,D and A Spirocores, in this setup there was a subtle tonal alteration over the range, perhaps hinting at the richness of a viola tone (oh heck, I’m starting to sound like a wine buff!). The A-string in its new location (where the E was) now sounds more like a viola A than in the original violin setup.
