2023年7月24日 · After a long and very fun weekend, Pikmin 4 is finally complete! Thus begins the 4 era and the wait for Pikmin 5! The game felt well-paced, a good length (for the most part), and overall much more satisfying than Pikmin 3 did at launch. Definitely a contender for the best game in the series, even if I still love 2 the best.

I think Pikmin 4 is the better game overall, but I have to agree on a lot of your points. For me Pikmin 4 is the biggest outlier in the series. It's not just a reboot for the story, but it feels like a reboot for the series as a whole, with the idea of "Dandori" being the focus in level design, mechanics and essentially every aspect of the game.

2023年7月25日 · Enemies not respawing after being killed outside of caves. Pikmin 4 has some of the best zones in the entire series, sadly they tend to feel completely empty very quickly. The 3 pikmin type limit outside of caves. Just feels needlessly restrictive. The Oatchi charge attack + ice pikmin combo completely trivializing 95% of fights.

Pikmin 4 has 8 pikmin types, 9 counting glow pikmin. Being expected to carry 11-13 of each type leads to extremely underwhelming numbers. They're gonna suck at completing every task. This was why Purple and White Pikmin weren't in 3's story mode. 20 of 5 different types was much more reasonable.
