EMD SD60 - Wikipedia
The EMD SD60 is a 3,800 horsepower (2,800 kW), six-axle diesel-electric locomotive built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division, intended for heavy-duty drag freight or medium-speed freight service. It was introduced in 1984, and production ran until 1995.

2018年8月27日 · Unlike the standard EMD wide cab, the nose is not tapered and looks more like the FP45 cab. GP60M Whisper Cab. This looks nearly identical to the standard version, but was the first EMD cab isolated to reduce noise and vibration. A vertical seam is visible on the side of the nose. Used on SD60I, SD70I, SD80MAC, early SD90MAC.

The SD60M features a "North American safety cab" design and has a full-width short hood. Early models until 1990 featured a three-piece windshield with vertical windows (nicknamed "triclops"), identical to the windshields found on EMD's SD40-2F and F59PH models.

The three EMD Demo units have standard class lights, the horn mounted on the cab instead of the long hood, the nose has the standard 2 grabs on the front and 2 grabs to the left side of the nose facing forward, and recessed (low clearance) radiator fans. 2008年8月9日 · From what I have seen, EMD built SD60M’s with two versions of the safety cab. The first version had a flat 3 piece windshield. The second version had a slanted 2 piece windshield and a tapered nose. BN got some of each. All of these were EMD designs. The ATSF GP60M’s had a special ‘Santa Fe’ only design that the Santa Fe and EMD worked out.
