2012年5月23日 · As the Bessemer acquired more and more 6 axle SD power, the F7s became surplus and were sold off to other roads. The Baltimore & Ohio acquired the largest number of F units from the Bessemer, getting 701A-711A (B&O 4644-4654-not renumbered consecutively) and 701B-711B (B&O 5527-5537).

L&N F7A 819 - Tennessee Central Railway Museum
This EMD F7A started out in life in June 1952 as Bessemer and Lake Erie Railway 719. For over fifty years, it was 719’s duty to move iron ore from the docks on Lake Erie to the steel mills near Pittsburgh, PA. 719 and other F Units like this were still moving ore jenny cars around the ore docks at Conneaut, OH and Erie, PA as late as 2000!

The UP provided seven Alco FA1s and eight FB1s, which were frequently operated in pure sets. B&M leasers took the form of Alco RS3s. By the close of 1965, UP's so-called "rent-a-wrecks" and the SOO F-units had been returned. As for the Bessemer power, and those locomotives from B&M, they remained under lease, for an extended period.
