I bought one, blind from interstate thats supposed to be unused in its wooden box, the prod number of " 21781" indicates it was made in 1987? but the previous owner claims its older? Anyone help here?

But the Puma 440c. is a pretty good knife blade especially they way Puma Tempers theirs, Infact I grew up on the 440c. at one time it was a high end steel, Now of course there's better. If you paid $125 or so, you have a good knife where the manufacturing costs were cut back to keep them affordable. Enjoy your knife, it will just have a chevy caprice look instead of a caddy at a caprice price.
