The Welsh Parliament is the democratically elected body that represents the interests of Wales and its people. Commonly known as the Senedd, it makes laws for Wales, agrees Welsh taxes and holds the Welsh Government to account.
The National Assembly for Wales was initially created as one corporate body, but in practice with two arms – the parliamentary arm (Assembly Parliamentary Service) and the government arm (Welsh Government).

I very much welcome the opportunity to contribute to the review of National Assembly for Wales Standing Orders. I see this as an opportunity to increase the presence and participation of children and young people within in the political processes and for the NAfW to break new ground and be standard bearers in this regard.
As the first Welsh Act for 600 years, the National Assembly for Wales (Official Languages) Act 2012 has its place in history and now provides the statutory footing for the bilingual operation of the Assembly and the Commission.
