2024年2月19日 · Good military field knife, along with the SRK, Recon Tanto, and Kabar (although the Kabar are getting awfully pricey). Pretty safe to say it's not much of a bushcraft knife. Definitely better than the Smith and Wesson knife someone gave me. Unfortunately Glock is now only offering the sawback model in the US. Andy

2008年9月24日 · I am making a new baton from a chunk of Crepe' Myrtle tree. This wood is HARD! and tough. I used my LM ARC to make initial cuts, then switched to the Condor and finally used the Parang as a draw knife to thin the handle. My last Crepe' Myrtle baton lasted about five years and was still going strong, but I cannot find it.

2017年10月31日 · I'd look at the Doug Ritter RSK MK1 knife from Knifeworks. It's made by Benchmade in M390 steel. I have one and it's GREAT. If you're looking for a folding knife that would be great for bushcraft use, I think you'd be hard pressed to find one much better. It's got a high flat grind and convex edge and the AXIS lock is extremely strong.

2024年8月10日 · The knife I got was sharp enough to easily slice paper and catch the back of my thumbnail so out of the package it was usable. It looks like it has about a 20 degree edge angle (40 degrees included). For a bushcraft knife which might be used to baton wood or process wild game, I prefer 17 degrees , but that is my preference.

2018年1月27日 · If you could have only one knife for serious kitchen work AND bushcraft, what would that knife be? I think I'd chose the Messermeister Meridian Elite Chef Knife. It's a beautiful knife -- great handle, no bolster for easy sharpening, decent steel (X50CrMoV15). I like it a lot better than the comparable Wusthofs and Henckels.

It eats through wood and notches better than a Gerberg and my Nordic Knife Design Forester. Anyways I just wanted to share this with folks who have the know how and want a great low-cost bushcraft knife.

2024年8月4日 · The scales of the “Bushcraft chopper” are contoured and are super comfortable. I was impressed. The blade isn’t too thick behind the edge, either. It’s a good size to be a general purpose knife camp knife. Personally, I wouldn’t have chosen the name “chopper” since it is much smaller and lighter than, say, a BK9 or Junglas.

2022年3月17日 · I have owned and used a lot of different knives for outdoor use. While this one is not what most consider a "bushcraft knife", it serves the purpose well for me. It has a 7 3/4" blade of well-tempered steel (a modified bowie blade forged in Solingen, Germany from high-carbon steel), which takes and holds an edge well.
