The Briar Bush Trails are always OPEN from dawk until dusk except during hazardous trail conditions. Please call in advance of your visit during inclement weather.

The mission of Briar Bush is to inspire people of all ages and backgrounds to explore and protect nature by encouraging curiosity and scientific inquiry.
Facilities and Grounds | Briar Bush Nature Center
Briar Bush is a rich oasis in the middle of suburban Abington. Our 12.5 acres feature over a mile of trails winding through a mixed deciduous/coniferous forest. Inside the Museum and out on the trails, nature can be found at any time of the year.
Staff | Briar Bush Nature Center
Estelle Allen joined the Briar Bush team in October 2022 as the Program and Guest Services Coordinator. Estelle spent 35 years at a major telecommunications company holding positions focusing on customer service and project coordination.

Briar Bush is getting a major makeover with a focus on accessibility, safety, and habitat! Just in time for the 50th anniversary of the Friends of Briar Bush, we are pleased to break ground in January on important visitor enhancements.

Briar Bush Summer Camps give your child the opportunity to experience the wonders of nature through scientific discovery, interpretive hikes, live animal encounters, games, crafts, nature play, and more.

Volunteer | Briar Bush Nature Center
Adults (ages 18+) There are many volunteer opportunities for adults including docents, leading guided hikes, maintaining the facilities and grounds, organizing archives, and more. Some of our most pressing needs are: Leading hikes for school groups.
