CSL stands for ***8220;Coupe, Sport, Leichtbau***8221;, hinting that BMW had designed a car even faster than the standard E46 M3. Obviously, it is not easy to improve on an E46 M3, as it already has all the major BMW M features.

The two choices that seem to be popular are the Schrick 280 intake/272 exhaust or the CSL intake/exhaust cams (don't know the specifications). 2008年3月26日 · The CSL and the Comp M3 are different in lightweight body panels / DME / seats / front wheels / intake / headers. The Z4M shares very little with the CSL and shares a few bits like the brakes and from what I am told some of the drivetrain with the Comp and standard E46 M3. They all 3 have different sofware running the S54 motor.
